AdaptTable for Spartan
Mobile cards in Spartan
Below the mobile breakpoint every row becomes a card — same columns, same row content, same query state. Use Automatic, Phone cards or Scrollable table to compare the same data without remounting.
Per column, mobileLabel and hideOnMobile tune what a card shows, and on a phone the pager gives way to infinite scroll: the next rows load as the list reaches its end. There is no second layout to build.
The code
import { Component, input } from "@angular/core";
import type { ColumnDef } from "@adapttable/angular";
import { AdaptDataTable } from "@adapttable/spartan";
const columns: ColumnDef<Person>[] = [
{ key: "name", mobileLabel: "" },
{ key: "team", mobileLabel: "Team" },
{ key: "email", hideOnMobile: true },
];
@Component({
selector: "app-people",
imports: [AdaptDataTable],
template: `
<adapt-data-table
[data]="rows()"
[columns]="columns"
[rowKey]="rowKey"
[features]="features"
/>
`,
})
export class People {
readonly rows = input.required<readonly Person[]>();
readonly columns = columns;
readonly rowKey = (row: Person) => row.id;
readonly features = [];
}

More Spartan features
- Filtering in Spartan — Ranges, selects, an AND/OR tree and chips — all in the URL.
- Column management in Spartan — Show, hide, reorder, pin and resize — from a menu you did not write.
- Column groups in Spartan — Spanning headers that collapse to a stub, a kept child, or a custom cell.
- Row selection in Spartan — A set of ids that survives paging, with bulk actions over it.
- Rows in Spartan — Pin rows from a 3-dot menu, and merge a team that runs down the page.
- Row reordering in Spartan — Drag or keyboard moves, announced — the host writes.
- Inline cell editing in Spartan — Native editors in the cell; every write goes through your handler.
- Row grouping in Spartan — Drag, select or keyboard grouping, with totals in the headers.
- Aggregation in Spartan — Footer totals, pinned summaries, group aggregates — not data rows.
- Nested tables in Spartan — A real table under a row — same engine, own columns, own keys.
- CSV export in Spartan — One toolbar button, a CSV of the table as it stands.
- Row and column virtualization in Spartan — 40,000 rows in a scroll box, only the visible ones rendered.
- Tree data in Spartan — Nesting, chevrons, lazy children, and a tree on phones.
- Pivot tables in Spartan — Rows down the side, dimensions across the top, subtotals at every level.
- Saved views in Spartan — Name an arrangement and restore it from the menu.
- Spreadsheet formulas in Spartan — ROUND, POWER, SQRT, IF — computed columns, errors in the cell.
- Right-to-left Spartan data table — Arabic strings, a flipped axis, and a popover that opens from the right edge.
- Live updates in Spartan — Rows change while you read them. Sort and selection hold.
- Accessible Spartan data table — Arrow-key focus, a visible ring, forced-colors, and live announcements.
- AI table assistant in Spartan Angular — Local sort, questions and approved edits with real table outcomes.
